The WAOW – Women Artist of the West 51st National Exhibition & Sale was on display at The Museum of Western Art in Kerrville, TX from February 6, 2021 – March 19, 2021. One of my pastel paintings, JUST EXHAUSTED, was included in this wonderful exhibition!

I was surprised and absolutely thrilled to find out that my pastel painting, “Just Exhausted”, received the Art of the West Award during the 2021 WAOW – Women Artist of the West 51st National Exhibition & Sale, AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL, at The Museum of Western Art in Kerrville, TX. – February 6, 2021 – March 19, 2021!

The Mountain Oyster Club 51st Contemporary Western Art Show and Sale was held November 22, 2020. The show in 2020 was a little different than in past years due to Covid-19.
However, in addition to displaying the artwork on their website, the Mountain Oyster Club offered mini previews throughout the month of November to view the artwork and implemented the recommended measures to ensure the safety of their guests and staff.
I’m happy and honored that one of my pastel paintings, PEEK-A-MOO, was included in this wonderful exhibition!
McCALLA AWARD FOR PEOPLE’S CHOICE
During the 2020 Mountain Oyster Club Western Art Show and Sale, my pastel painting, Peek-A-Moo, was awarded the McCalla Award for People’s Choice! What an honor to receive!!!

“I am delighted to announce that the winner of McCalla Award for People’s Choice is Barb Schacher with her adorable piece, “Peek-A-Moo”.
Denise McCalla was the art director for 13 years before unexpectedly passing away from acute leukemia in 2013. She was a dear friend of mine, the Mountain Oyster Club Staff and Members. She was a light; she was fun, full of love, and adored animals.
The Award is selected by the MO Staff to honor her dedication to the Art Show and her beautiful life.

Women Artists of the West celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2020 with a wonderful show at the beautiful Settlers West Gallery in Tucson, Arizona.
The WAOW – Women Artist of the West 50th Jubilee Anniversary National Exhibition & Sale was on display at Settlers West Galleries in Tucson, AZ from March 25th – April 17th, 2020.
I’m very honored and excited that my pastel painting, MOMENT OF SILENCE, was included in this wonderful exhibition! This pastel painting sold during the show and received an award, a Gift Certificate for $250.00, from America West Frames!

MOMENT OF SILENCE was awarded BEST OF SHOW and 1st Place in the Dry Medium category of the WARA – Western Art Rodeo Association’s “2019 Frontier Stampede” online show in August of 2019. It was also awarded 1st Place – Dry Medium category in Round 2 of the WARA World Finals online show in December of 2019.
